Hi all,

We're really sorry to say that the next 'Can I Get A Witness?' on June 5th has had to be cancelled, due to the organisers (Matt, Milly and Will) just having WAY too many other commitments around that time to make it feasible.

We could possibly have gone ahead with it, but the stress would have killed us and it most likely would have been crap, so we made the difficult desicion to shitcan it and focus on making the next one at the end of August an absolute belter.

So mark it in your diaries folks: Friday 27th August at the Thunderbolt.

Hopefully we'll see you all there.

There's been a few changes to this site, namely we now have a forum area called 'Bands/DJs Wish-List', in which we (your humble CIGAW? organisers) post up details on some bands/DJs we are thinking about approaching to play future CIGAW? nights, so that you (yes, YOU) can reply and let us know what you think, as well as making your own suggestions for Bands/DJs to book.

Cool huh?  Interactive clubbing = way of the future.  You get to help choose which bands you wanna see, we get to build buzz about the night in advance, the bands/DJs get some free publicity and we are more likely to get them to to play if they know people will want to see them.  Everyone wins!

So go along to the 'Bands/DJs Wish-List' section and get involved.

What a night!  Gulliver started heads nodding with some seriously decent dubstep, Milster got the crowd wiggling with some downright sexual funk and soul, and Vicarious played a few choice funky/breaky numbers to get the dancefloor full for the arrival of...

...Dr Meaker.

One word.  Two syllables.  DAMN.

They tore the fahkin roof off the place!  The walls of The Thunderbolt have never dripped with as much condensated sweat as they did for that hour.  Funky, soulful, rootsy, gloriously lively live drum and bass, with spine-tingling blasts from their amazing brass section, stunning beats and melodies coming from the synths of Meaker himself and a silky smooth performance from their spectacular singer Lorna King - what more could you ask?  What's that?  MCing from Meaker too?  And a little bit of nasty dubstep?  And a Star Wars mashup?  Shiiiiiiiiiiit!

Vicarious then pretty much had no choice but to give the crowd what they wanted and continue the D&B, so rinsed out the biggest, nastiest jump-up that he possibly could in order to keep the temperature high and the floor bouncing.

By 1am it was all over, and everyone staggered out onto the Bath Road wondering what the hell had just happened.

A massive thank you to everyone who came and tore it up that night.  See you all at the next one on Saturday June 5th!
